Breath Structering Machines.
My private gallery of treadmills, that passed away and appeared during the 2020 corona situation: a modest 3-count. Like any system, the load exerted on it will expose its weakest spot -- overload will eventually make it break. It is a natural law. It will require fixing.
Shopping on the second hand market is a bit like ‘prototyping’: along the way the perfect pieces come together, a bit from this, that, here, there, uniting into ‘the perfect machine running experience’. The evolution from the colorful, fancy displays for example –- that literally burn afterimages of LED digits in the minds-eye -- into the silent basic solid treadmill (right image): grey, boring, minimalistic, with a display that merely is the connection between runner and machine. Somehow these treadmill manufactures have excluded the option to switch off the display (lights and sound) while the machine is running, at will. I find it more comfortable to be able to exclude all those data -- at will -- and switch it on when in need for it (maybe only afterwards, as a chart on a computer screen).
A treadmil is an essential tool for runners. It is a piece of laboratory equipment. Like the toolbox of a car mechanic in a garage. To shape training, heal injuries, experiment and – imagine these paranoid, megalomanic, extremely unlikely, unrealistic, absurd, ridiculous words one year ago: a great back up in the case of a world wide pandemic that makes going out more difficult and impossible at times.
